In June 2025, Kestrel delivered our signature Play-in-a-Week project at HMP Pentonville.
Working across five days with two directors, a playwright and a producer, a group of eight men worked together to create an original performance.
Together, they created If the Bench Could Speak, a moving piece about seeking connection and reassurance, seen through the prism of a series of encounters between strangers, friends and family members meeting on a bench.
On the final day, they performed their work to prison staff, including Governor Simon Drysdale, external Kestrel guests and other invited prisoners.
