Who we are
A registered charity using the power of performance inside the criminal justice system since 1998.
Whether you want to partner with us inside a prison, connect as an alumni member, collaborate as an artist or even support our work financially - we'd love to hear from you.
Our mission
Kestrel Theatre Company has been using the arts within the criminal justice system since 1997. We employ professional directors, writers, and designers to work creatively with people inside prisons, young offender institutions, and remand centres across England.
Our aim is to facilitate original theatre and film, empowering those taking part to express themselves in a non-judgmental, collaborative environment - developing greater self-confidence, mutual respect, and resilience.
We produce work of the very highest standard, which speaks to audiences beyond prison walls and challenges perceptions of who can make - and who deserves to experience - great art.
This project has honestly opened up a new world of possibilities. You are changing lives FACT.
