A play-in-two-weeks intensive project that took place at HMP Five Wells in October 2023.
Participants worked with professional playwright and screenwriter Martha Watson Allpress ( The Bush, Lyric Hammersmith, Channel 5), along with two directors and a producer to create an original piece of theatre, Connections.
The show explored what it means to search for human connection in difficult circumstances; missed connections; long-lost connections and unlikely connections.
Connections was performed to a large audience of staff, external industry guests and invited prisoners.
I'm very close to release and I had no ambitions. But I'm good at this. It's kind of prevented me from getting out and being completely lost.
