In 2017, a group from HMP Springhill worked with a director, writer and producer to devise an original play. They performed the work whilst on tempoary license at the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs at the Royal Court Theatre.
The play was remounted in 2018. Then men rehearsed for three weeks in Bicester, before heading to London’s West End to perform seven sold out performances at The Royal Court Theatre.
This project has taught me that you should never set limits for yourself, you can do whatever you put my mind to. It has been a unique experience. It has given me unforgettable memories, friendships for life and a new meaning to teamwork.
